Newcastle Pride was very proud to be a screening partner for the Newcastle leg of the 2019 Mardi Gras Film Festival on Tour, and to be able to support Queerscreen via a donation from ticket sales from the Short ‘n’ Curlies Short Film Night held during the 2018 Newcastle Pride Festival last August.
Queerscreen co-chair Joe Duggan accepted the donation presented by Newcastle Pride Co-founder Ivan Skaines at the opening night of the film festival, at Event Cinemas Charlestown. The Newcastle Leg of Queerscreen’s Mardi Gras Film Festival included an exciting and camp program of Lesbian shorts, Gay shorts, and the feature length films “Anchor and Hope” and “Mapplethorpe”.
Queerscreen will be curating a series of LGBTIQ+ shorts for this year’s Short n’ Curlies, held during the Pride Festival in August.
