Preparations are well underway for our third annual Newcastle Pride Festival (October 7 – November 6 2022), which supports and celebrates the lives, history, rights, achievements, culture and aspirations of the LGBTIQA+ community in Newcastle and the wider Hunter Region.

The theme for 2022 is ‘Equality-Diversity-Inclusion-Respect’. In addition to our usual curated program of events, this year as a growing Festival, we are calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested individuals, groups and organisations willing to mount events in the Festival as an Associated Festival Event. Our objective is to present a wide-ranging, extensive and inclusive Festival program appealing to a diverse range of interests and backgrounds.

We welcome proposals in a variety of areas including, but not limited to: Family and Youth, Community, and Sporting Events; Indigenous and multicultural themed events; Performance and Visual Arts; Exhibitions; Public Talks and Conferences; Music and Multimedia Based Events, etc.

We invite all who are keen to be represented in the Newcastle Pride 2022 Festival Program, and the growing ground-swell of LGBTIQA+ Pride in Newcastle and the wider Hunter Region, to submit an EOI and join us as we stage the region’s most inclusive, spectacular and vibrant festival.

Please Note:

An Application Fee of $50 will be payable to Newcastle Pride Inc. should your EOI be accepted into the Festival Program to cover costs the associated with administration, marketing and promotion. Newcastle Pride Inc. is very supportive of other Community /Non-For-Profit Groups so please contact us if this application fee is a barrier for you to submit your application. If Newcastle Pride Inc. accepts your application, you will be sent further information regarding payment details.
It is understood that by applying to be included in the Newcastle Pride Festival that you intend to follow through with participating and staging your event. Newcastle Pride Inc. kindly requests all event organisers to be mindful of this and show professional respect and courtesy.

Newcastle Pride: Associated Festival Event Expression Of Interest Application

This form is to be used by members of the public to register an EOI application with Newcastle Pride to have their respective planned event become an official Associated Event in the Festival Program.

NAME OF EVENT:*

You must not use the words ‘Newcastle Pride’ OR ‘Official’ in any description of your event so not to give the wrong impression that Newcastle Pride Inc. is co-producing or co-presenting your event. This includes using these words in the event names created on social media and other platforms. Examples of unacceptable event names or marketing approaches includes: > Presented by or with Newcastle Pride… > Co-presented by or with Newcastle Pride… An example of an acceptable marketing approach: > The ABC Event is pleased to be part of the Newcastle Pride Festival If your event registration is accepted by Newcastle Pride Inc., you are entitled to use the official Newcastle Pride Logo on all your marketing collateral to acknowledge you as an approved registered event. The Newcastle Pride Logo and Guidelines will be issued to you after your event has been accepted. You cannot use our logo prior to the Guidelines being issued to you.

> Newcastle Pride Inc. reserves the right to not accept an application if your event does not meet the application requirements, Terms and Conditions, or impacts on an existing event planned by Newcastle Pride Inc.
> You agree to comply with all legal requirements, Council and other obligations in staging your event (e.g. COVID Safe compliance)
> You agree to be suitably insured and to provide Newcastle Pride Inc. with the necessary evidence of your insurance coverage (Insurance Certificate). Newcastle Pride Inc. takes no responsibility for your insurance.
> You agree that Newcastle Pride Inc. cannot be held liable if, due to unforeseen circumstances the Festival, or any part of the Festival, is cancelled.
> Should Newcastle Pride Inc. accept your application, you will be sent further information regarding payment of your Application Fee ($50). Your event will not be published if payment is not received (unless you have made prior contact with Newcastle Pride Inc. and received confirmation that this Application Fee shall be waived for your particular Community / Non-For-Profit Group). THIS WILL NOT BE CHARGED NOW! An invoice will be sent to you should your EOI be accepted by Newcastle Pride Inc.
> You agree that, once accepted to participate in the 2022 Newcastle Pride Festival, your Application Fee ($50) is non-refundable (irrespective of whether your event proceeds or not).
> You agree to be available for media and sponsor obligations, subject to consultation.
> You understand the image, description and other promotional material you submit with your application will be used by Newcastle Pride Inc. for official purposes.
> You agree to adhere to the above Newcastle Pride Inc. application requirements and Terms and Conditions at all times.
