Application to be an Associated Festival Event
Preparations are well underway for our third annual Newcastle Pride Festival (12th August – 5th September 2021), which supports and celebrates the lives, history, rights, achievements, culture and aspirations of the LGBTIQ+ community in Newcastle and the wider Hunter Region.
The theme for 2021 is ‘This Is Me!’. In addition to our usual curated program of events, this year as a growing Festival, we are calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested individuals, groups and organisations willing to mount events in the Festival as an Associated Festival Event. Our objective is to present a wide-ranging, extensive and inclusive Festival program appealing to a diverse range of interests and backgrounds.
We welcome proposals in a variety of areas including, but not limited to: Family and Youth, Community, and Sporting Events; Indigenous and multicultural themed events; Performance and Visual Arts; Exhibitions; Public Talks and Conferences; Music and Multimedia Based Events, etc.
We invite all who are keen to be represented in the Newcastle Pride 2021 Festival Program, and the growing ground-swell of LGBTIQ+ Pride in Newcastle and the wider Hunter Region, to submit an EOI and join us as we stage the region’s most inclusive, spectacular and vibrant festival.

- An Application Fee of $50 will be payable to Newcastle Pride Inc. should your EOI be accepted into the Festival Program to cover costs the associated with administration, marketing and promotion. Newcastle Pride Inc. is very supportive of other Community / Non-For-Profit Groups so please contact us if this Application Fee is a barrier for you to submit your application. If Newcastle Pride Inc. accepts your application, you will be sent further information regarding payment details.
- It is understood that by applying to be included in the Newcastle Pride Festival that you intend to follow through with participating and staging your event. Newcastle Pride Inc. kindly requests all event organisers to be mindful of this and show professional respect and courtesy.
