Following the acclaimed success of our inaugural 2018 Newcastle Pride Festival, we are doing it all again. Come one, come all….rainbow families, Red Torquettes – women on bikes, burley bears, lipstick lezos, twinks and kinks, plushies and drag divas.

With a count of over 7,000 people in attendance in 2018 and an atmosphere that was filled to the brim with energy, love, community and diversity we bring you the second annual Pride Fair day… With loads of retail stalls, a cavalcade of community stalls, a veritable smorgasboard of food vendors, the sea of hearts installation and amazing non-stop entertainment on centre-stage this year promises to be memorable event.

This year, the Doggywood parade returns, there’ll be heaps of kids activities, a meet-up tent and loads more. Pride is a time for celebration that involves lots of colour ‘n’ motion. Drag out your rainbow flags, shirts, tights, wig’s anything rainbow and head to Pride Fair Day. Just be comfortable in this safe and inclusive space. Bring yourself, family and friends to come celebrate this Family friendly event. Bring a rug or your banana chair, settle in and get ready for a ride of camp entertainment and rainbow coloured fun.

Our entertainment for the day includes MC Comedian extraordinaire Jackie Loeb, Chris E Thomas, Dyan Tai Sydney’s Keytar Hero, Quinn Carter, Drag performances by; Timberlina, Amy Orale, Tracy Adams, Jordianna Lagucciana Devonchiniana. Comedy performance by Dianne Slowly.

JACKIE LOEB
Winner of the prestigious and iconic ‘Australian Mo Award’ for ‘Comedian of the Year’, Jackie Loeb has been a fixture on the global stand-up comedy landscape since she exploded onto the scene. Described as Gobsmackingly Excellent and Completely in your face funny by publications across the galaxy, Jackie has maintained her reputation as one of today’s most hilarious and gifted Stand-Up Comedians while simultaneously distinguishing herself as a Corporate MC. We can’t wait to welcome Jackie back to Newcastle Pride.

 

DJ SVETA
Born in the Soviet Union, on the run, Sound Of Music style, for several years through Europe, and eventually landing in her new home, Australia, this Sydney DJ and producer is considered spinning royalty in her adopted country. Pioneering many club nights, she has worked every veritable corner of the scene — both above ground and below — to master a sound that is quintessentially Sveta.

 

 

CHRIS E THOMAS
Chris has been known to the industry and fans alike as a powerhouse performer for many years and outside her studio and stage work she is associated with The Jimmy Little Foundation’ Good Tucker’ Programme. She has proudly served our Australian troops overseas with Forces Entertainment recently returning from Egypt 2013 and was the first female performer on the front line in Mirawai, Afghanistan in 2012. Her voice has served on many recordings from your average radio and tv add, to backing or lead vocals on albums and live dvd’s for Australia’s best.

 

DYAN TAI – Sydney keytar hero
Malaysian born Dyan Tai is recognised for his edgy performances that are a yin and yang blend of modern pop music influenced by Asian instrumentation, tradition and fashion. ​Armed with his mirror-coated keytar, Dyan has performed to audiences across the country. He is a regular performer at Sydney Mardi Gras and various underground cabaret shows.

 

 

TIMBERLINA
Originally hailing from a small country town in the Central West of New South Wales, a move to the ‘big city’ in her formative years saw Timberlina dabble in all things dance and drama. After short hiatus from the limelight, Timberlina was re-born in spectacular style and glittery glory in early 2017, and continues to be an ever-evolving chameleon of the performance and hosting world.
Timberlina’s over-the-top style and dazzling repertoire, coupled with her naughty quick wit, will keep you fabulously entertained for hours.

 

DIANNE SLOWLY
For the second year running, Australia’s Queen of Comedy, the effervescent Dianne Slowly will join the festivities, presenting another original musical parody work at Newcastle Pride Fair Day.Dianne Slowly has performed all over Australia and is the flagship character creation of the internationally renowned musician and comedian John Collins.

 

 

QUINN CARTER
Quinn has been singing and performing  for 17 years now, and has played around the Central Coast, Sydney, and Newcastle in bars and pubs, as well as busking in market places and at cafés. He has been privileged to have participated as a featured artist in Schools Spectacular (2014-2017) and Starstruck (2013-2018), and was accepted into the Talent Development Project (TDP) last year in the singer/songwriter category to further his musical and songwriting knowledge. Quinn will also be releasing his debut single, ”Blame” later this year.
